Qualifications and Skills Needed
People who want this job need to satisfy these conditions
Hold a valid medical coding credential – like CPC or CCS – or another recognized qualification in the field
1 to 6 years of medical coding experience
Familiarity with ICD-10-CM rules shows up clearly. Moving beyond that, CPT standards are handled without hesitation. On top of those, HCPCS procedures fit into daily work smoothly
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
